The second special, which took place in Libya, was not really a success for Eric Vigouroux and Alexandre Winocq, who had some small problems. But what is important is that they have strengthened their hold on the third place in general classification.
"We had a perfect beginning in the special. We overtook Lavieille's car quickly. Then we stopped, for the first time, to change a wheel following a slow puncture. The tracks were full of stones that cut like knives. Then, there was a wrong indication in the road-book. But we didn't know about it then and we continued in the wrong direction. Several minutes had passed by the time we realised this and returned to the right track," explained Eric, who added jokingly:
"I have started believing that overtaking Lavieille brings me bad-luck.
Next time, I will not overtake him and will remain behind him!"
Finally, Trophy Truck achieved the sixth place in the special of the day, 18 minutes and 26 seconds after the best-time achieved by Nissan Navarra of Polish Holowczyc. In general classification, the Pro-System Racing car had the third position after Holowczyc and Lavieille with a delay of 9'40''.
It is worth noting that on Saturday, American Ronn Bailey won the special in the "Desert Tracking" category (in the regular classification). The American, who is wearing Pro-System Racing colours for the first time, was very happy with his performance. Unfortunately, it would seem that he had engine failure this Sunday…
